I am currently using an older free version of DeadAIM. But inorder to install it, I need to downgrade my AIM to an older version. I did this and installed DeadAIM, but now I'm missing several features of the newest version of AIM. Is it possible for me to upgrade my AIM again with DeadAIM installed so I get the features from both programs, or would that damage my DeadAIM?

Well, you can always upgrade AIM and see if DeadAIM still works. And if it doesn't, you can always go back to the older version of AIM.

Personally, I use Trillian. That appears to have all the same functions that DeadAIM has, plus allowing me to connect to ICQ, Yahoo, IRC & MSN. If you're interested, you can find it here.

Upgrading AIM will disable DeadAIM, and you are much better off with Trillian in any event.

Thanks Turner_727 and Cedric Greene, I've just installed Trillian. Does it have the option to tab all buddy windows even if they're from different groups? (currently the program creates a window for each group, even though buddies within the same group could be tabbed) If I accidentally separate a window from the tab, can I put it back?

Yeah, there is, but the only one I know is to put all the 'away' windows into one container. I think that's what they call it.

Trillian has a support forum, I think it's www.trillian.cc.

Thanks, I was able to do that. However, I have one more question. Are we able to edit buddy groups? With AIM I am able to put buddies into multiple groups, and even edit their grouping when they're offline. I don't seem to be able to do it with Trillian. I searched their forum but couldn't find anything.
