I've been out of the loop for about 9 months, new job, new house, etc. Found out about BtS, got it, and went to edit in my mods before playing for the first time.

Thing is, BtS has all sorts of new items in the XML files, and my previous resource to find out what a particluar line did in any given XML was to check the CivIVWiki. But now it seems to be down... Say it ain't so!!!

And if it is, someone please tell me there's an XML resource in here that I haven't been ale to find that covers all the different XML items in one convenient location... please?

Here's an archive of the site, but it's very slow. http://web.archive.org/web/20070617230824/civ4wiki.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

I have a site (Civilization IV Modding Reference, link in signature) that will (eventually) have a reference to all the tags documented. I currently have Civ4LeaderHeadInfos and the text files and a link to lots of tutorials here on CFC, including the Modder's Guide to Beyond the Sword (civ4 wiki only ever had reference for vanilla).

Thanks deanej. Specifically I was looking for the new stuff in BtS. I'm trying to find a way to cntact Firaxis directly, to ask if they could publish a resource for us, but that's probably a pipe dream, wot?

Thanks for your efforts, and the links. If I can contribute anything, I will, but you're probably aeons ahead of me ;).

OK, with rkyte's permission, I have resurected the Civ IV Wiki. Please come and join the Wiki and begin contributing. We need your help to complete the listing of all the XML, Python, & SDK files. Just like the original Wiki, the goal is to be the authoritative modders reference tool.

Wow, were you actually able to get the old data? That's the scary part about contributing to a wiki that might go *poof* any time. All for nothin.

I was able to get most of the old data. That's why I need help. Trying to document every tag of every XML file in Civ IV is way too much work for one person. That, and I don't understand Python very well, and haven't even bothered trying to figure out the SDK :crazyeye:.

As for the poof!! problem, this Wiki is backed up on two seperate PC's twice every week, and I'm working on a third, in a remote location. So, if for some reason Wikidot were to suffer a catastrophic failure, the data wouldn't be lost. Although I frankly don't see that being an issue...

Hope to see you there!
