Appearantly the game doesn't recognize the AMD R7-M340 from my ProBook, which should be way over the minimum specs. Catalyst Center configuration doesn't seem to matter as the game only recognizes the onboard Intel HD Graphics 520, and the dedicated card is not listed in the game options of Civilization.

The drivers are current.

Patch 1.0.0.26

Edit: Clarification

I think there is a graphics option to choose a graphics card if you have more than one. Look for that.

Not sure if this helps as I don't know much about Catalyst, but I have a laptop with nvidia gpu and I can right-click on an exe and select "Run with graphics processor.." and choose the dedicated gpu.

If you bought it off steam, the exe should be at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Base\Binaries\Win64Steam

Ok, I did some research and appearantly this is the way HP handles it with their dual-gpu drivers. So there is no way to force a game to use the dedicated card (which seems to have more of an assistance/on-demand function). Since Fireaxis can't do anything about that, this topic can be closed.

This was the exact case on my Aspire 7745. In BIOS I had to change an option from Switchable video card to Concrete video card. Now it works.
