I see many have posted about this problem, but there have been no answers that addressed my specific issue.

This problem occurs nearly immediatly after the game loads. I select "Custom Scenerio" choose a civ (any civ, it doesn't matter - this bug is for all of them) and the game then loads. I get to the intro box where it details my nation, techs, and leader traits. Then, as soon as I click the box to start my game and begin moving it tells me that I have been defeated. The game then ends the way it would had I been conquered or what-not. All the map is still blackened out and I cannot see anything of the earth. This makes me think that the units were deleted, or that they did not exist.

This is always when playing the KREarth map in BtS.

Unfortunately, no. It was downloaded off of this site. It is the largest Earth map I have ever been able to find, and it worked very well with warlords. For some reason it is not working with BtS. The other maps/scenerios that the game shipped with work well, and I have not tried other downloaded maps with the BtS expansion yet.

Did you redownload it after BtS came out? Most scenarios will be screwed by patches let alone a new Civ Version and it is well possible that this scenario has to be redone for BtS.
Best way to make sure is post in the thread for this particular scenario if someone is still maintaining it...

I see. Is there anyway to "convert" it or edit it so that it will work in the BtS expansion? I appreciate your help!

There are ways to do so, the problem is I am not familiar with this scenario (and have not yet made any scenarios for BtS - so anything I say is liable to be only half right ;)) Your best bet would be to post this in the Creation & Customization subforum.
