Hi folks,
this is my first post in the forum... first of all thanks to all the contributors to the site and the forum! Due to all the help here I got from chieftain to demigod level... but now it gets tricky on deity. I play the Celts on a standard continents map. I was able to grab some nice territory and continue to gain land in a war against Carthage. It's pretty much sure that it would be possible to control the entire continent (turns out there are 2 big ones on the map), which would be about 40% overall territory. BUT it's 610 AD now and I entered the middle ages just some turns ago, while the AIs on the other continent just got into the industrial age or are at least close. I am also far behind in culture and trades are difficult, because my rep from the war against the Zulus (already out of the game) and now Carthage took some hits.
So, should I continue the conquest of my continent, hoping to get to the other continent later with Artillery/Cav/Inf for a domination win? I feel I don't have any other choice... but I fear it might be too late already because the AI will probably launch the spaceship or cross the 100k limit earlier. The pretty even 4 civs on the other continent give me some hope though, they will weaken themselves in fights for sure... if there would be only one dominant AI it would be a lost cause perhaps, no matter what I'd do...
BTW, in the Demigod game that I won with domination I was able to capture the GL, so I had no serious tech problem. In lower levels I kept pace with self research and some trades, but deity is really hard...
I attached a small minimap, I am the light blue civ on the western continent.
