I am currently engaged in a war on a tough complex battlefront and could use some thoughts and advice.
So in trying to hit Rome, I tried to occupy the Antium strait, but that turned into a death trap, with him slaughtering ship after ship and eventually retaking the strait itself. Even with all the machine gun fire I layed out his ships are too numerous in the strait, and I can't hold it.
I've pushed on the north side of Rome, and have had some successes there but I don't think its a long turn hold.
My biggest success has been on the eastern front, I have managed to take out all his citadels and now have a decent front into his main. I've taking more attrition than I like but at least I have a foothold now.
So my thoughts now are to abandon the strait and the north of Rome, pull back and set up my navy to obliterate anything that comes out of the strait. Meanwhile all of my attention is spent on the eastern front and a slow push towards Neapolis.
Do you like that plan or do you think there is a better strategy that I am not seeing?
