Maybe the requirements for golden ages should be slightly easier than you got right now, though I think you're on the right track. In my last game (peaceful culture victory) I was doing great from the Modern Era on (which was a Heroic Age) but with 3 Golden and 2 Dark ages in the past I was unable to secure a Golden Age in either Atomic Era or Information Era, while I kind of feel like I was doing well enough for that to be fair. I believe I missed 8 and 5 points respectively.

It might be different for warmonger games, however, as conquering and getting promotions on units often allows for more era points, so maybe instead some peaceful history moments should be added or increased.
 
Hello All. I just downloaded this mod and started using it. It looks like it has a lot of good stuff in here. I'm about 50 turns in and I have noticed something strange. When I use a builder to make improvements. All tiles around the builder is added to the cities territories. I even had one game where it took a tile from another leaders city and gave it to my city. Here is a screen shot of before and after the builder upgrades. 8AoP is the only mod I have installed at the moment. I hope you might know whats going on.

Civ ability - Land Down Under
+3 Housing in coastal cities. Building a Pasture triggers a Culture Bomb, claiming surrounding tiles. Campuses, Commercial Hubs, Holy Sites, and Theater Squares gain +1 to their yields in tiles with Charming Appeal, and +3 with Breathtaking Appeal.
 
My brother and I have been trying to play multiplayer with this mod and a few others, and have been having constant desync problems around turn 20, resulting in a loading screen every turn or two. We did some extensive testing and isolating every mod, we have found that this mod is the one causing the problem. We find it very hard to play without a pace mmo like this due to our style. Any help or suggestions?
 
Before rise and fall we were using Civ VI improvements patch to change the game pace instead of 8 AoP, and it worked perfectly. It doesn't look like that mod will see a R&F update, so I was hoping to use this one since it is very praised by the community and works great for my single player games.

I don't know if these logs will have any good info for you, but have a shot.

If you need me to run another quick game until we desync to get recent logs or a save or something, i can definitely do that
 
We did do that already a few days ago. We played with only individuals, and found we could make it to turn 30 or 35 without desyncing with the other ones, but with 8AoP, we desyncd at turn 20 like clockwork.
If it helps, we also did a workaround (found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/civ/comments/7x8l5g/civ_6_rise_fall_dlc_momentillustrations_database/) that involves replacing some game files. I don't know if that would have affected anything or not.

I will try running a few more test games soon and post results here.
 
ok we ran some games. (AI+ and 8AoP are the only 2 mods we consider essential to our playing)

game 1: AI+ and 8AoP: desync on turn 11.
game 2: 8AoP only: made it to turn 31 before i was killed by horde of barbs hah. no desync. This surprised me
game 3: AI+ only: desync on turn 5. Seems perhaps I was remembering the desync problem incorrectly and messed up my previous tests. AI+ appears to be causing the problem on it's own.

I apologize for wasting your time.
 
If you are playing multiplayer, make sure the game is in Fullscreen mode, not Borderedless Window or Windowed. If any of you are not in fullscreen youll get horrible desync.
 
any plans to update this? the game has gone through an expansion and multiple updates since the last version of this came out.
 
8 ages of pace really doesn't feel right with R+F
multiple technologies are still being researched in the middle of wars as if the war is spanning thousands of years or something. the base game had the pace set right but something in R+F really sped it up again. Even the Ancient Age goes too fast through research compared to what is accomplished on the world itself.
 
Is this compatible with rise and fall? I use this mod on Marathon, but it doesn't appear to have any effect on gameplay. I can't even tell if the Mod is running...
 
Hey Olleus, I am sure you have been busy, but I am wondering what your plans are for this mod. I'd like to help you update it for Gathering Storm since so many people are clamoring for it (myself included).

If you do not have Gathering Storm, I am perfectly happy to test out some changes so you can get it updated. Although I guess with Gathering Storm it's going to be 9 Ages of Pace now! :p

Heard anything about updates? Or will a new similiar mod be created instead?
 
No, no one has properly updated 8AoW, and like 8AoP I'm sure Olleus isn't interested in updating either. However - and it's been a long time since I've looked at it - but most, if not all, of the components could still be compatible with GS. Or, they might just need minor tweaking. :dunno: It could be a good project for a beginning modder to take on.
 
8aoW and 8aoP have'nt been and won't be upgraded for GS unfortunatelly.
BUT, a moder (Napstablook) did upgrade 8aoP for GS: I'm in an Epic game with this mod, and it feels very good. Maybe the latest techs are a bit too long (42+k for the future ones :/ )
But I really enjoyed the pace. I really was struggling not to be in dark ages sometimes, and I have time to enjoy each era's units and features.
