The only reason it took so long is that simple file sharing was turned off for the computer, or just that file. By the way that feature is in windows xp it's called permissions and it rules. If you turn off simple file sharing, it turns on permissions, and this lets you hide files and folders that you don't want others to see, or see folders the system doesn't let you access like restore points. For example if permissions is off it doesn't let you see what is in the System Volume Information folder, Try it, the folder is hidden, so you have to make sure you have show hidden files and folders turned on, and show system files turned on. If you hide it and someone else tries to access they get a popup that says you don't have permission to access it. I guess microsoft is doing this to certain system files in windows to prevent someone from deleting something they shouldn't. I'm sure that if the guy tried to delete something that wasn't a system file, like a shotcut to a game it would only require 3 steps at most.
