Destroying Barracks

Actually, they can, but you get them right back. I had this happen to me, and the barracks came back.

So, in a sense, you're right aeldrik. . .

In the two years I've played, I've only had it happen once. While I don't usually get AoW, I get it more than I don't.

I seem to recall this came up a few weeks ago. Someone suggested making a scenario to test it, but I never heard what happened with it. And have been too lazy to do it myself.

I notice often when I click on a city view that several buildings may be destroyed (after an attack or civil disorder). Is there a way that I can know what buildings have been destroyed without going to the city close up (for each city) and checking for destroyed buildings? (and it's rather a pain to try to remember which buildings I had put in all of my many cities and then hoping to notice them on the list of things I can build)

It would be very useful (hint hint firaxis) to have a message log that would give the year, the city or unit, and what the message was. . .

When you build a wonder that palces an improvement in all cities you actually get that improvement again in cities that already got them. So those cities got two barracks in a way. At least you can sell barracks in a city, that already had them after sun tzus is build, and just get the money without losing the barracks. I think this is the same with bombarding. You can lose the improvement once in cities that had them before the wonder was built, and still having the improvement. When the second barrack is gone (either by selling or by bombarding) it can't be lost again.

has anyone ever had this happen-bombard a city, destroy the barracks, then enter the city with the barracks still intact? Happened to me once.
Also I remeber a time when I bombarded a city down to size 1 and destroyed all improvements, then the next turn when I decided to bombard it again, I had re-destroy all of those same improvements?
