Can we destroy our own cities? after i got another civs city given to me, through culture, it is in a bad spot, and I would like to destroy it.. how do i destroy my own cities? if i even can?

Are you using civ3[vanila]? In some earlier version there is no "abandon citt option". To destroy you must keep lowering the population (by starvation or settlers/workers) unitl it gets to 2/1. When at two if you want build a settler. When at one build a settler/worker. Eventually it will almost be finished. It will give you the option to demolish

WAIT: I think it might be this one instead. If you have a metroplis starve it down to a city (must be 12 population), then sell your hospital. Then wait a little while. When the popup appears click abandon city (Free setler ). If it isn't a metroplis, well, you get the point.

You can't sell a Hospital (you can't sell an Aqueduct either).

Does your main menu screen have a big tower as the background? If so, you're on vanilla. If it's a spaceship, you have Play The World. If it's a samurai warrior, you have Conquests.

If you have vanilla, I'm afraid you'll have to go the Settler/Worker method. But there's one more requirement for that - the city cannot be growing. If it's growing, you'll just get a Settler/Worker after a delay of several turns (to grow). If it's not growing, you get the option to abandon. So make your city intentionally work desert tiles or something of that sort, and I'm pretty sure you'll be able to abandon eventually.

Nah, just install the patches. And anyway, it must be an ancient version of C3 if it doesn't allow cities to be abandoned. Presumably you can still buy/sell cities, have to deal with broken upgrade paths, and have resources like coal, horses etc distributed in odd clusters.
