SOME IDEAS:

UNITS:
DINOSAUR CHARIOT
DINOSAUR RIDER
VELOCIRAPTORS
TYRANNOSAURUS
BRACHIOSAURUS (WITH CARRIAGE ON ITS BACK)

BUILDINGS:
-HATCHERY
-TRAINING CENTER (LIKE BARRACKS?)
-WATERING HOLE/OASIS
-STABLES

WONDERS:
-FIRST FIRE
-THE WHEEL
-NOAH'S ARK

OTHER:
INSTEAD OF CALLING ARMIES "ARMIES" CALL THEM "PACKS" SO A GROUP OF ATTACKING DINOSAURS (LIKE RAPTORS OR SOMETHING) WOULD FORM A "PACK"

AND MORE IDEAS TO COME (I HOPE):lol:lol:

cool pesoloco, i like your ideas also

hey! The pole is starting to lead toward the yes side..... yay!!!
Any other ideas from you guys?

a few more:
improvements:
- Food Storage (Granary)
- Public Meeting Place (Temple)
- Shelters
- Plaza?
- Meal Chambers

technologies:
- Fire
- Heirogylphics (precursor to alphabet)

I just found out the new 1.21 patch will be released friday. In this patch you will be able to add "unlimited" resource icons and "unlimited" unit icons.

With that in mind, we could add all sorts of dinosaur-related resources:
- raptors ( required for attack raptors)
- brachiosaurus ( req. for brachi-rider)
- tyrannosaurs
- etc. for dinosaur units
luxuries:
- bones
- diamonds
- lumber

another idea for dino unit:
pachycephalasourus (prolly spelled wrong - i'll check and see later) - this dinosaur has a "dome" head and uses it to "ram" enemies

for some reason the pic isnt working. trying again....

(his neck is a little thick. i'm going to adjust the width too)

peseloco-... wow

a new government can be elderly council, jurrasic park will help a lot with dinos.... those things with the spikes on there back would pronbably work well

If you guys are discussing the Dinosaur scenario that came with Civ II: FW, then I absolutely loved it!

But if you are, and you're suggesting bringing in humans, then I think that's a bad idea. It would change everything that was cool about that scenario. On the other hand, a scenario where the different civs are different species trying to survive (call it "Evolution" if you will) would be very cool.

The starting civs could be variations on dinosaurs, humans, and maybe insects. Say, two dino tribes, two humans and two insects to start out for a total of 6. It would certainly make alliances interesting.

I do not believe in the theory of macroevolution (man evolving from single-celled organisms). The scenario in Civ II was based on this form of evolution, where, as you "evolved," your dinosaurs got more advanced. I realize there are forums on evolution so I will not try to argue it here. However, I will say that there is evidence found in ancient texts of man and dinosaurs coexisting. (This is usually not brought up by scientists cause it makes evolution questionable)

Anyway, I still like the idea of man and dinosaurs together (like the stonehenge mod that was mentioned - i believe by tpasmall). I have based most of my work either from Jurassic Park or Dinotopia - two situations where man and dinosaurs were together. I think it makes for a more fun game and doesn't even have to touch the theory of evolution - a questionable subject in many peoples' books - including mine.

ill have to agree with peseloco

thanks. "those things" are stegosaurs and they are cool!!!

thanks, mr. coolcosh for your support.

You may have noticed that some of my pictures are showing up kind of fuzzy. That's because they are JPG files with compression. Don't worry though, in the game they show up very clear.

i haven't really been on in a few days and i haven't really had time for civ in those days either, but from the sounds of it ideas should not be a huge prob;)

i love what you've come up with and i agree with pesoloco also, evolution should be left out of this. that is the one thing i disliked about the dino mod.

anyways keep the ideas coming i will start on it sat. probably, if not sometime next wek. won't box myself in here.:crazyeye: ;)

Now that I am done with 4 SG in 3 days, I will finally have some time to work on the units again. And I better crank out some before someone said Dark Sheer is delayed again.

I will try to attach a Dino preview later when I get home this evening. :)

This is a graphic for the oasis improvement.
This would serve as an extra aqueduct or replace it (what do you guys think?)

This would be its stats:
- Req. 1 Aqueduct (in same city) ** if it replaces aqueduct improvement, this effect would not be included

effects:
- allow city size level 2
- Culture: 2 pts per turn
