Did I just get a new patch installed?

Whow! I supposed, they made you an offer one cannot refuse and expected to never hear from you again. Now I'm sorry, that I quoted quite carelessly your inside Light as a symbol for being silenced.
Nobody can help anyone find the Light. Either you find it by yourself, or you don't.
It often seems so while reading through the threads ...

Just want to quote a sentence someone wrote two days before you disappeared suddenly two years ago: "I realize the repetition can become tiresome (believe me, it is tiresome for me to write it), but then, the repetition of the [1UPT] fallacy has also to stop, simply because there is a shining, living example (Vox) that shows that a good AI can be achieved under the same conditions of civ 5 and civ 6."

I like the quote from Galileo Galilei: One can teach a person nothing; one can only help, to find it out himself.

Hmmmm... sounds familiar...

Firaxis didn't made me disappear. It was another entity that "made" me... or better, some elements of that entity... and I did not disappear. I just stopped contributing because, well, said elements seemed to deem my contributions unwelcome.

Let's see what happens now.

Anyways... 90+ Mb for a launcher???? Stupidity is storage-demanding these days...

A few posters who don't like Civ VI complaining about it. That's what every topic turns into lately. :(

Yeah, because the launcher was always a great idea, and now that it became a bloated piece of 90+ Mb that causes problems to a considerable amount of players (judging from the reporting around here), it's even a better idea that deserves our praise... correct?

I'm not going to complain too much, not a huge deal--on the other hand, what actual purpose does it serve? Is it just there to send ads?

Oh, the launcher itself is total garbage. I always bypass it. I was more referring to the other complaining that start up a few posts back. There are a few posters here that just come into every topic and complain lately. It's tiresome. :(

Idk, the one time I tried to bypass it it screwed with my game.
If we must have a launcher, I greatly prefer the original one that was solely devoted to Civ and had the videos inlaid on one side. You know, keep you up to date.

whose idea was it to have a new launcher? He needs to be fired and kept MILES away from doing anything game-related.

Someone at 2K or their parent company Take-Two, I'd imagine. Eh.
that man is a cancer and needs to be removed! A lot of players are NOT HAPPY about it.
Do people need to demand a refund in mass to get them to wake up?
All 2k and Fraxis are doing is "we be fixing it, please call the help-line durr durr huh."
like a cave man.

Good luck getting a refund on a game that you probably bought years ago. Anyway, you don't know that the person was a man.

he/she/it whatever.
2k are bunch of morons and have a intelligence of a monkey if they think this was acceptable.
Someone needs to kick their butts and pull their pants off!

I bypassed the launcher and my game works again. Thank god.

Loading Civ VI and then closing it again became buggy messes after this new launcher. Thankfully there was a solution for me here. Bypassing the launcher fixed the problems, so I agree with this sentiments completely. I don't know what 2K's goal with the new launcher was, but they succeeded in having one less customer use it.

Don't ask for a refund, but send me the equivalent proceeds...

:D

Well I've turned the launcher off now and I can't believe how much better my games load. Even before this launcher update I was suffering slow turn times and it took forever just to open the list of saved games. I'd just assumed it was my old rig getting older. I really owe my PC an apology! ;)
