Yes, maybe a stupid question, but I did read in a lot of places about a change in the game time and etc.
Is it only because they did put more things in the end of the game, or did they actually changed the number of turns?
If yes, how many turns the new speeds have?

Yes. It's 1500 turns instead of 1200 turns on Marathon speed, don't know on other speeds though.

Thanks! But I need to know mainly in epic and normal speed :S

Thanks a lot!
Now I only need Epic :P
Which I am playing right now heh..
I like to know mainly for helping me in cultural victory, with all my crazy calculations ^^

I'm quite sure epic has 1000 turns... epic is double of normal and marathon is triple, simple. I think quick has 375 turns.

Btw, you can just check in the game. On the victory conditions screen it says how many turns are left.

Hell, how stupid can I be?
Thanks for hte info anyway :D

750 i think, can't check right now. But I have this number of turns always shown in top right of my main screen, there must be an option somewhere.

Ye, 750 for epic it seems.

It seems strange to me because on civ4 epic game was 800 turns if my memory deserves, i would be actually surprised to see Marathon Speed increased and Epic Speed diminished.

was 660 is 750 ;)

Just to summarize:
Quick: was 320 is now 330
Normal: was 460 is now 500
Epic: was 660 is now 750
Marathon: was 1200 is now 1500

Omg, so Marathon is double of Epic, and I'm bored to death already when trying Epic :crazyeye: What do people do with all those turns? Since you can do nothing else with them than moving your units around, Marathon players must all be horrible warmongers ;)

I used to swear by Marathon as well, and I'm not a warmonger (well, most of the time anyway). Though, I eventually gave Epic an honest try for a couple games and once I got accustomed to it I found that I liked it much better... as Goldilocks would say, it was "juuuust right".

Marathon is certainly better for warmongers but i think the reason a lot of people like me play Marathon is just because it's the only speed in which units don't become obsolete before you can even use them.I also find Marathon the only speed which gives that epic feeling to play from 4000BC to 2050AD.Quick and Normal imo are just too RTSish so i never used them since civ4 was released, while i used Epic before 1.52 was released and it was just too fast for my taste, i had riflemen become infantry without even using them :( for example.

I'm a cultural/diplomatic player and do marathon all the time.

Frankly, I don't understand how people play on any other speed. How do you have time to build wonders and create uber cities and the like? I tried an epic game...it was sssooooo fast and I just didn't have time to do anything.

Plus tech felt weird in an Epic game....in a Marathon game, i'm always....right about where history should be. In my Epic game, I had reached the modern age in the 1600's. (I did really blaze through the tech tree though...I was fairly isolated....my first ever war came in the 1700's, and it was Mech. Infantry vs. Riflemen. Willem regretted that war, I assure you. Holland became a nice new province of the Roman Empire.) I play on Noble though, so maybe that had something to do with it. I find if I go any higher, it's too hard and has too much focus on war.

Marathon is my fav and only speed i play :king:
i just love it..and im not warmonger :p game feels more realistic on marathon for me. Normal and epic game end way too fast for my taste.

But don't research, units and buildings all cost more on marathon, so while you may have thrice the number of turns to build eg a worker, you also need thrice the number of hammers = thrice the number of turns? So in the end it's the same, no?
