To come into a place where it is generally accepted that Deity level is difficult and where expert players provide logic and valuable info how certain conditions change the difficulty and then leave statements in the likes of "Deity = easy. Lolz" and "What u say is wrong, because I don't think so" (-> think! not know!) is bound to provoke some reactions.

With all those threads b1tching about the AI and complaning about Civ4 was harder, I figured that beating Diety was something that most semi-serious ciV players were doing with ease. I thought I would get more support/agreement than this to be honest. Didnt come here to brag about it, I thought it was normal. Why ppl are complaining about the AI and how easy the game is then ?

I am not saying you don't win on Deity, I think nobody is. What interests the folks here is how you do it and yes, maybe backup your claims with a bit more than just "I do what I do and I do it so well", because it is indeed a little insulting to claim everybody else is not getting it. If it is really that easy for you, some tips are surely appreciated and a much more interesting discussion will take place sharing those ideas, strategies and tactics.

I am not an expert.
This is why I am able to win marathon deity almost all the times but fail to in standard deity most of the times

The problem is that deity >>> everything else apparently (Tbh I only tried it twice and failed miserably while I do constantly well at Immortal). So what is considered "easy" at lower levels, flips at deity difficulty. Even if an AI is dumb or erratic, given enough numbers and headstart, can make him beat you (brute force). The question is just how far you crank this up. Apparently with the current Diety setting, it poses a challenge for enough players to be considered difficult, in this community.

Anyhow, why don't you try a standard speed game and come back to us, letting us know if you experienced a difference to your marathon game. I, for one, would be interested

Try Pangea, Diety on standard/epic speed, normal settings on every else and try to beat it consistently.
