I just played a 16 hours TAC game, and won an independence victory as Martim of the Portuguese. I played on the Conquistador level, and was surprised by how easy I found the game to be. I'll give you the details of the game, and you tell me.
Martim (Portugese)
TAC South America
Conquistador
Normal Speed
I settled on the east coast of modern day Brazil, and eventually expanded to the other edge of the continent, maintained only two ports. Cortes of Spain conquered the entire southern part of the continent. Louis of France, Peter of the Netherlands, and Penn of England shared the entire north part of the continent. Near the end of the game, I invaded and razed every village belonging to the other nations. When I declared independence I shared the continent with Nunki of the Shuar alone. I had 20 Ships of the Line, 3 Frigates, 4 Carracks, and 2 Privateers. The King of Portugal had only 18 Man o Wars. I sunk all 18 of his Man o Wars, and this is how I achieved victory. Only about 10% of his ground forces actually landed on my shore.
So my question to you is, Is conquistador this easy for everyone?
