This may seem like a bit of a petty matter, but I would apreciate some opinions.
Was at my pub tonight, celebrating my 20th even though it was on Thursday, and tonight was Saturday, and this younger punk who I sort of know ( Age approx 17-18) tried to start some **** with me. Nothing came of it there, but I would like a few opinions on the best course of follow up action:
1.) Ignore it completely, as he probably won't remember it
2.) Get through a polite message not to get in over his head with certain people
3.) Go after him, asap

This may seem like 1.) is natural choice, but I believe this foolish kid might actually try something. My interaction with these younger types is complicated, as I tutor one without anyone else knowing. Thus, I don't need no hotheads screwing anthing up.

My head tells me (1), but my guts tell me (2), as I don't really think this little boy knew what he was doing. ( Typical drug addict)
I dunno, quite frankly. I have contigency plans in place in case of any eventualities, but i don't know how this will turn out. I just have a very bad feeling about it. Hopefully it is nothing, but I honestly believe this little idiot ma try something stupid at a very inopportune moment, and that will turn out bad only for him.

I am rather drunk while posting this, but I just need some other thoughts on the matter by older andwiser minds before the situation escalates

I'm not older (19) - I don't judge about my wisdom

- but I think the best course of action is to reach him through people he trusts, like friends, or other people he might listen to. If you're one of them, then you could try to talk to him. If not, it might make things worse.

But you're also a little vague. Can't you tell what kind of **** he wanted to start with you? If it's actually nothing serious, then you can ignore it in the first place. Perhaps it's just his age. (Look who's talking

To my aging eyes 17yo punks and 20yo punks all seem much the same! (j/k)

Seriously Simon, if want advice that makes any sense please give us more information - is this just a precocious and precious juvenile ego problem or is there something more to it?

The way I see it, violence is only justified in instant retaliation. The only time to start something like that up is at the bar when he does it. I'm afraid you've lost your window of oppurtunity to put his teeth on the curb and will instead have to ignore him untill he tries it again.

But, hey, that's me. I'm not a supporter of "turning the other cheek."

I don't know what is more ridiculous: This little situation, or the fact that I was able to type it coherently at nearly 3 in the morning!
In the cold hard light of day, it really is nothing to concern myslef or anyone else about. The solution is clearly to ignore the little runt, but if he trys anything in the future, deal with it then.

This really is a very petty matter, but thakns for the common sense advice y'all wrote.
Now please, would a moderator close this thread and let it die. It really shouldn't have been born, so think of it as retrospective abortion
