Diplo Win on Multiplayer!

Science and Diplo wins take the exact same number of techs.

While the Diplo path techs take less beakers (and research labs are on the tech path), great scientists/rationalism/oxford mean the last techs are popped so it takes the exact same # of turns to get there.

The hold-up: UN takes twice as much production to build compared to Apollo Project. In addition, you must wait 10 turns for diplo voting, while it can take 1/2 that time to build the spaceship parts.

Summary: diplo win is longer than science win!

Here is my first Diplo win on MP (197 turns), which I did for fun cuz the science win would have been about 10 turns quicker. A human stayed until the end, with the other human quitting when the outcome was obvious.

I filled out Liberty, Tradition, Rationalism and Freedom completely before the win.
Over 1000 science, over 500 culture per turn.
Kremlin + Freedom is CRAZY, my capital was 150+ strength.

With competent players it's litterally impossible to do this but kudos for the first post of this genre.

To make this possible, you need to get a huge empire and kill every threats that can destroy almost all cs before you put gold in them.

I will try to do the same if i have an occasion. I made a science win(see the first FFA EPIC GAME months ago with 4 players aka spaceship of doom) once but keeping these cs alive should be harder theorically.

A really big continent of your own with a fast land grabbing can do the trick i guess. All you need after that is to build a ton of battleships to protect coastal cs while you tech to Globalization.

Did you keep a ge for the UN?

The map was small continents, so the CS were scattered around. When the UN was complete, they had only 10 turns to kill CSs, I had several extra allied in case of that. But I was not playing "expert" players, however that is defined.

I did have a science victory last week on turn 210, where I had to also build army... the other remaining player was "strong" for a public player (handle PersianImmortal I think) and he owned most of the continents. He led in all areas for most of the game, and I slipped the last space part in as my capital was nuked and strategic bombed with modern armor and helicopter gunships on the landmass. I couldn't build spaceship parts in my capital at all, it got nuked several times after I built Apollo!
 
i have tried that in a NQ game...my experiense is that is to hard to get diplo wins..i think the CS must be on deity maybe..and you should have your own island with some CS..maybe the exp pack will make diplo victory easier;) hope so..i like winning in diffrents way not only domination and sciense..so when i see the chanse for a diffrent kind of win i try it..
