It is hard to grasp if this is really a bug. But it seems a lot like it. I am playing the Azteks on King difficulty and on a huge map. It is turn 110 on marathon (2410 BC). My military is one of the biggest in the world - only Rome, Russia and the Kongo have about a unit more than me. In all other areas I am at least second place.
Suddenly the Kongo and Sumer are simultaneously declaring war on me (about 15 turns ago) although both are about 20-30 tiles away from me (multiplpe city states between us) and I have done nothing to generate diplomatic penalties (no war, no settling, no religion for kongo, no denouncing). I thought ok, maybe some hidden agenda I triggered.
This turn though again a double war declaration. This time from Brazil (about 50 tiles away, half way to the other side of the pangea map) and myself oddly enough. Although after looking at the message queue it was clear that the other war party is Spain (so this at least is definitely a bug). I have never met Spain before so how can they even declare war on me? I am decently confident that this shouldn't be the case and that a bug is causing these issues.
Maybe they wanted to go to war with each other? Kongo and Sumeria are close neighbors and I assume that Spain is close to Brazil as well since pretty much the only part of the map I haven't explored yet is the part south of Brazil. A few turns after declaring war on me. Kongo and Sumeria also went to war with each other could it be that they wanted to do that before as well?
EDIT: Turn 118 Brazil offered a peacedeal with money. 3 turns later! No fights happened. But they declared war on a city states and Rome. The war with Rome ended 5 turns later also on Pedro's initiative.
