By any chance, does anyone have any advice on how to resolve (or at least minimise) the following problem? I've heard other people complain about a similar issue, so hopefully someone might know a solution.
In most respects my computer runs Civilization IV fine. Once in a while the game will crash for no apparent reason; but this isn't a big issue since I only need to reload and continue playing. However (and this is the big problem) the game always crashes during the diplomacy screen with speaking with another leader. If another leader contacts me for trade, for instance, the game will always crash within the next few moments unless I race to close the diplomacy window before it does. If I can end diplomacy before a crash occurs, then the game will continue problem-free. But if I don't finish quickly enough, a crash is inevitable.
This is the only aspect of the game that's causing me any serious problems. Unfortunately, diplomacy is an important aspect and it's really detracting from the game when I'm forced to avoid it as much as possible.
For the record here are my system specs in case it makes any difference:
Athlon XP 1800+
Radeon 9700 (non-Pro) 128 MB
1 GB RAM
Windows XP Home
Catalyst 5.13 Windows XP Video Driver (The Latest Version)
