Diplomacy screen question?

I am currently playing a 256 by 256 map with 16 civs on it. It is great fun by the way (damn frenchies are chapping my ass). My question is this:

On the diplomacy screen with the 8 portraits in a circle of all the leaders, only 8 are visible how do i see the other 8 in a 16 civ game???

I remember reading somewhere that you have to shift and then click (or right click) on one of the civs. Then a little drop down menu appears with other civ names. Never actually done it myself.

you can just go to the trade screen and double click Greece or whatever.

I haven't figured out a way to view who is at war with who though.

I had the same problem for a while
