I know it mite be a stupid question, but how do I build embassies? Just started playing, and i dunno :s

Welcome geert19
1.gain contacts with other civs
2.discover "writing" (you may be prompted automatically to establish embassies)
3.double-click on the capitol icon (star) and get a menu where to open embassy (known civs only)
note: IIRC, you can't open embassy with a civ your at war with or you're in anarchy(?)
