Anyone know if there is a setting or mod file we can adjust to disable the sound played when you trigger the rock band action? By late game someone is doing it on _every_turn_ and it is quite annoying. :)

Extract this to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\DLC\Expansion2\platforms\windows\audio and replace (or if your Civ is installed on a different drive/folder, modify accordingly). These are just empty files and you might want to replace the sounds with a different sound instead, so you can hear if someone's attacking you with indie bands. ;)

If you want the sounds back, either make backups or just delete the files and use Steam's "verify integrity of game files" option.

I'm probably breaking the rules but can this get updated? When I follow this path I do not see any file called "RockBand" I really wish I could just disable the sound. It's annoying to hear on late night playthroughs when I have music going.

Well, I for one thank you, because in this vein (and thread for that matter) I would like if the same is possible for the annoying combat (barbarian combat?) sound. For some DUMB reason they tied that sound to the music slider and not the sound effects slider. So hear you are, trying to chill with that glorious music, switch down the effects a little so you can enjoy it more... oh, a barbarian, let's attack it... POUNDING DRUMS IN YOUR EAR! =.=

Weirdest design choice. Rockbands have exactly the same issue.

@FXS_MisterKevin Probably not a priority, but could you put a post-it note on the desk of the sfx and music guys to consider this for the next update (or next game') ^^' : P

Oh please, please can there be a way to either
A - change the sound file, or
B - turn the bugger off altogether.
Right now the sound gets turned off as soon as I hear the first AI Rock Band make it's way around the world as it drives me utterly cadbury's!

which file is it?

Not recommended - I tried this and had CTD whenever I tried to play. I have disabled rock bands altogether.

The files to be replaced are the same as those in the .7z file, i.e. 17318196.wem etc. RockBand.7z is an archive file which needs to be extracted with e.g. 7-Zip. Replacing the files as stated in my earlier post doesn't work if you have New Frontier Pass or any of the individual packs. All the civ/leader packs contain duplicates of the same audio files and I guess those would have to be replaced as well.

I tried this myself, too, to check the cause but didn't get any CTDs. I noticed that the rock band sounds only went away from GS AI benchmark, not if I played an actual game. So I checked if the files also exist somewhere else, and they do in all NFP packs.

Though this is a very late reply to some questions, it is possible to modify or replace any sound file. Since they are in .wem format, you need something like Wwise to modify them.
