Hey everyone!
I think the source of my slow performance is actually the swaying of the trees! Whenever im zoomed all the way up, the game runs perfectlly over regions without trees or the ocean, but once I scroll over an area with many trees, it slows down.

So my question is, does anyone know of away of disabling the swaying of the trees? I couldnt find anyway of disabling ONLY the tree animations...
Thanks!

I'd like to know this too, I experience major lag over forests & jungle. I don't really care how they look; I just want the game to run smoothly.

Any chance this is an ATI card issue? The GeForce2 on my parents computer doesn't seem to have this problem.

Isn't there a graphics option that says something about disabling animations? that would disable them all, including the trees.

But what should disabling the tree sway animations accomplish? They will still be redrawn every frame, and that's always going to take about the same time, whether the top vertex of the tree is moving or not...
