Okay, I have an interesting one. 
I have upgraded to the 1.52 patch, which corrected my graphics issues, and the gameplay is great.
Except....
I had built a Grenadier (having just acquired the technology) and was moving it through my empire to a city on my eastern front to fortify it against an attack from an AI civ. I am not on the edge of the map, nor were any enemy civ units between Washington (the city that created the Grenadier) and New York (the city to be fortified with the Grenadier). The computer showed 2 moves to get the Grenadier to NY.
At the end of the 1st turn, I saw the unit on my map. However, the unit never made it to NY. (Also: the road from Wash-NY approaches NY from the SW, and the enemy was directly E. Between the SW road and the attackers on the E is water.) When I realized that the Grenadier didn't make it to NY, I searched manually on the map, and it was not there. I went to my Military Advisor, and it was not listed. I did not see a battle take place (and, of course, it appears that Civ 4 does not show a list of existing and destroyed units, as it did in Civ 2), and I did not disband the unit. Any ideas?
I did end up staving off the enemy, but it was quite annoying to have the unit disappear for no apparent reason. Any help or insights would be appreciated. Thanks!
