WHY CAN"T I DISBAND LAGASH? I rushed a settler in Lagash, killing one pop point (now a size 2 city). I expected to disband Lagash and get my settler, like always, but instead its just sitting there waiting to grow to size 3. Is this normal? This has never happened to me before.

(the turns to growth is 4)

there may not be any excess food the turn the settler is finished - di you make sure of that? If you limit growth to --- 1 turn later, it will not work. You then must click on the rush button, then it should work!

btw: Qs like that do not really need a thread of their own - simply post them in the Newvie Qs thread or the FAQ thread ;)

happy civving!

Actually, you need to ensure that the city is not producing any excess food. It can even be starving! You need to have that city in a position so that it is not growing, next turn you will be given option to delay production, go to city or abandon city.

Build workers to size one, starve it and try to build another worker.

Or, right click to abandon the city. ;)

chieftess: it is only the facxt that the city had excess food, thus was able to grow. Turn that off and it will disband!

I know, thus the 'starve the city'.

I'm trying to build a settler ;). If I abandon the city, I don't get that settler.

For the curious, Cartouchee Bee hit it right on the mark.

Lt. Killer M: No hard feelings :), I was only kidding (but consider that a warning ;)).
