This thread has been quiet for a day and a half. Just for the heck of it I'm going to repost. Maybe I can get someone to argue with me. BTW, would "checking the current tech status of all the civs" fall under F/A? Military? Science? Who should do this, Bill?
Repost:
I disagree, Fionn. We are about to be squeezed by our neighbors. The way I see the nation heading is totally backwards. We shouldn't be expanding to the west and picking a fight with the Yanks.
The Japanese border is now touching Tlatelolco in the SW. There are furs, cattle, wheat, and most importantly, a river. Japan is annoyed and aggressive.
We can expand peacefully to the East and SE with our new cities. They will flourish on the coast there. We need to build in that direction.
After we subdue the Aztecs, we need to make a hard right and follow the river NW, taking what we need and want. This means more military units, more Settlers, and more Workers. We need to build a road out of Tlaxcala in a Westernly direction towards the Japanese. We need to build cities along the river out of Azteca (acually the river originates in Japan), and follow the river to the fertile Japanese territory.
We don't really have time to take a breather. We just regroup and go. Expand to the SE, fight up river, then expand in that direction.

This topic needs to be discussed so we can plan a better "flow" of our Military. If we are going to attack up river, we will want our troops in that area when we are done with Monty, not scattered all over the place. We need to plan ahead.
