Disease problem

Hi
In my recent game I played the Calabim and had the following situation: I had build some vampires + adept to raid my neighbours. The adepts had the entropy 1 spell ("wither"it gives -10% heal rate or so). So as a couple of enemys approched I cast "wither"... almost all enemies got hit. BUT when they attacked me the wwither promotion seems to have caused to infect my (winning) vampires with "diseased". To make things worse I have the Ashen veil religion so no priests with "life" to cure them. So how can I get rid of the diseased promotion???

I don't think that wither causes disease, but the death II sorcery spell (contagion, which vampires can cast) does, as do the AV UU diseased corpse.

The Pool of Tears unique feature and the Aquae Succelus Wonders can remove these promotions.

Whither should not be passed on. On the disease tangent, I have not had disease or plague (viz. plague carrier) spread to/from myself in a very long time. Is it working?

And are diseased corpses supposed to be subject to the ills of the diseased promotion? It takes centuries for them to heal. I would assume disease should not affect undead.

Yeah, it's still 'alive' and well. I had the misfortune of playing the Grigori and attacked a few Diseased Corpses and got it - including a couple of my Adventurer Heroes. I had to wait until I could research Medicine (usually not a priority for me) so I could get a Grigori Medic to cure them.

Magister, where did you get that info. on the Pool of Tears? In general, I cannot find info. on some of those special terrain tiles - also the one where it looks like a guy is reaching out of the ground. Does that do anything?

So Aquae Succelus is my last hope....
Since I don't know where the pool is which means:
a) it istn't on the map (possible?) or
b) far far away

But this makes the vampire spell kind of useless... You cast it to weaken your enemies and it backfires the instant you attack or get attacked. That seems kind of odd to me

The Pool of Tears is not a wonder. It is a unique terrain improvement that may (not always) get placed when the map is created. Or did this change since Patch G?

Aquae Succellus is the life-giving wonder (and cures disease), but it requires life mana to build.

Is the diseased corpse disease working in patch k? Does it just have a chance of spreading, or is it supposed to be definite?

I've had a number of them attack and be attacked, both stacks in cities and in the world (friendly and enemy territory), and they've both won against one element of a large stack, died attacking a large stack, and been killed by attackers...

but I've never been able to spread their diseased promotion to any enemy units (or friendly, for that matter)... Also, I assume having them in a stack will lower the entire stacks' healing?

I've noticed two problems with disease myself:

Firstly, units that have the Immunity to Disease promotion (for example, crusaders and paladins) can still become diseased.
Secondly, (and this is only more tangentially about disease), the Grigori Medic upgrade of 'Luonnotar,' by gaining Immunity to Magic, loses the ability to cast cure disease on itself. I'm not sure if that's intended or not, but it's pretty annoying either way.

Wither is not passed on in combat. The problem is that when you cast it, it also targets your allied units: Your vampires wither each other (or even themselves?).

That makes the spell pretty useless in my opinion.

Btw, how do I get rid of the "withered" promotion? I accidentally withered half of my werewolves yesterday...
