Divinity Original Sin 2 is out

I like how my guys (and girls) shiver when they are chilled. so many nice touches in this game.

This is such a difficult game. One hit from an arrow from a silent watcher destroys my physical armour on classic mode. Very frustrating. I'll give props to those who can play this game on tactician mode (has anyone even tried honour mode?). This game has simply the best AI I have ever seen in any game. Like once they charm my rogue, cast restoration on my undead character Fane, damaging him. I'm finding I'm doing most of the game on explorer mode. I suck at this game.

Still it's a fun game for exploration and the story is more interesting than last game by far. Gameplay is significantly improved. Even if inventory management can be a pain, and takes a long time to explore every nook and cranny, it's still rewarding to do so.

Some fighting tips,
Summon 10 gives a much stronger pet (same spell).

Knockdowns are still the most powerful CC imo, so i focused my dps on melee builds (and Ranger) to remove physical armor.
Warfare has 2 mass knockdown skills with very good range.

Tactical Retreat is awesome for Ranger and Mages, Blitz Attack for fighters..positioning is very important in big fights ofc :)
I also make sure that at least 2 chars can cast Fortify and other support spells that remove negative effects.
Smaller hp potions can be combined into better ones.

Tactician is not that difficult (until L15, where i am currently) if you try controlling battles with those knockdowns, a good pet and positioning spells.
Killing enemies is far less important than surviving their first attacks, and then focusing on removing the most dangerous ones armor & locking them down.

They nerfed Bonw Widow.
:(

Still not pretty far in the game, had to take a break due to time constrains. At level 11 it's becoming punishing again becasue some of my equipment is obsolete and new stuff is expensive.
And where can I buy scoundrel skill books in Reaper's Coast. Nobody in Driftwood seems to be selling them.

Thief tip: I you improve Fane's (or maybe any undead's) thievery skill he can pick locks without lockpicks using his "bony finger".

why didn't they include an option for quest trackers? It makes the game impossible to play because how in the heck are we supposed to keep track of everything and find where the quest items are when there are literally no hints at all? It's very elitist on the part of the game developer.

Fantastic game... Playing tactician... Yes it was very hard getting through the start, but once you get your team to level 5-6 it becomes enjoyable.

I like the fact that combat are tough and AI very good. I actually always learn some tricks just watching how opponents play !

Anyways. I think it's a must for everyone who enjoys RPGs, as witcher 3 was !

As RPG fanatics and appreciator of NWN 1, also DAO (if it is counted as the same bundle), this game really really tempted me like crazy. Since I notice about this game from this forum I keep searching around gathering information about this game, sometime during my working hour, it look really a solid game, however something really troubling me about this game, it is about the "God" aspect within the game. I really hate being drag around in the game to chose my affiliation to some particular in game gods, the thing that I like about Elderscroll or NWN I can simply ignore it or ditch it, I can roleplay to reject it. But I sense that in this game, you must chose your affiliation with certain gods to fill the godless atmosphere in the society, and you can be the deity yourselves, I mean are there anyway I can avoid all of this? this is also the same thing that made me change my mind not to buy "King of Dragon Pass" for android, seem like solid game, but yeah, this gods this gods that thing is really turn me off.

I just buy new laptop, strong one, for gaming purpose, and I really disappointed to find that 2017 is really a poor year for pc gaming, especially rpg. Uffff!

Haroon, don't worry about this. The plot is unavoidable, but you can make all the choices you want, and there is several twists (though you'll probably see them coming from far away).

Hey Akka, are you saying that my char can chose not to worship any of them or not admitting them as deity? It would be even better i think if i can kill all of them like how i kill vivec and almalexia in morrowind, dang! Thatll be good!

I can't really answer in depth without spoiling the plot, but I can tell you at least that : you REALLY won't have to worship any of them :p

that answer is a gold AKA, done, I'll play this game.

Before I start playing I have another question, what difficulty you suggest me to play? I don't want keep changing the difficulty while playing, it break the game immersivity, if I play the easiest will it be too easy? I never play baldur gate, planscape, NWN 2, etc. The only similar rpg that I play are DAO dan NWN 1.

The first advice I'll give is : install this mod. Really. Especially if you care for immersion.
As for difficulty... For my level of play, I found it could be a pretty frustatingly difficult and "feeling unfair" game sometimes at the Classic level, but doable (that being said, I play with the added self-inflicted challenge of "never one dead, ever", that's my OCD right there). I'd say the Classic mode is somewhat harder than DAO hard mode, as a reference.

sound pretty hardcore game, as I remember playing DAO years ago, I play it on normal difficulty. That mean I will go one level lower than classic.

Just fast read the mod description, it seems like a game mechanic tweak with 4 different option to choose, I'm not yet digging into it so I can't really comprehend what it actually did however if it will enhance the gameplay experience I will install it. So which version should I take? Moderate, reduced, DND or No scaling?

edit: I like challenge but not in a hardcore sense, I like the sense of enjoying the superiority of my grinding effort and enjoying the awesomeness of my new weapon from my hard earn money.

The need of a constant upgrade of weapon can be quite tedious and boring (which this mod suppose to fix), but the noticeable damage reward after upgrading your weapon also important, I love this sense of progress. The no scaling mode hence is not for me, so it should be between moderate, reduced or DND, which one is the least hardcore between the three I wonder.

It might be a tad too easy, at least once you're used to the system. Be open to increase it if you ever feel you're not having a challenge (there is quite a huge gap between explorer and classic, that's true).

Basically, the problem of the game is an absolutely ridiculous number inflation with each level (from 25 to 50 %). So a single level of difference might make an encounter nearly impossible, or on the contrary rather faceroll. Added to this, it means that if you don't buy gear at every level, you will be lagging behind in a staggering fashion. Which adds lots of imbalance to the game (Lucky Find and the ability to rob merchants becoming the absolute kings of the game).

There is no "hardcore" difference between the versions of the mod. It's only degrees of reduction of this whole inflation thing. It only changes how much the numbers (both yours, the foes' or the gear) increase with each level.
I would advise the "reduced number bloat" (10 % per level is still a noticeable difference, but not ridiculous), but that's up to your preferences.

I'll go by your suggestion. But Akka I just check the game on steam my bad I don't check it earlier (more focus on review and stuff), it is still so expensive, I hope they make a 50 percent discount for valentine day lol then I'll buy it. Dang I'm so sad.

Steam should be more merciful to non US or non European user because we have a different standard salary, anything normal there here is like insane, I hope they can be more like android playstore that adjust their application or game price base on user location, if not piracy will be flourish 95 percent of population can't afford it lol. The price of the game is like 15 percent of minimum wage here, even though my salary is far beyond the minimum wage here, and I can buy it however for that amount I better buy something for family. If they going for sale I will buy it. I don't have any rpg on my sad laptop.

It's also available on GOG. I don't know if the price is lower, but at least you tend to get some wallet money for future expenses ^^

Kind of interesting that out of 15 in 22 years of reviews, 7 of the games have been 2015 or newer releases.
The list is pretty dreadful in itself (only The Witcher 3 is truly deserving the rate, maybe Breath of the Wild, everything else range from "mediocre" to "pretty good, but not worth a perfect score by any stretch of the imagination"), so meh.

Yes I agree lol still when a game makes anyone's exclusive list it's something.

I mean if we're using whole numbers only there's a few games I'd rate a 10 over a 9, but on a 100 point scale I don't think anything breaks 98. There's always something that could be better.
