Do the AI go for the 'prize' items?

I was just curious. I started playing through my first game of this (and I think I enjoy it more than Vanilla Civ actually) and actively hunted down the Orc and the Dragon, but I noticed that the AI seemed to have not cared. In fact, the Dragon spawned quite close to an AI person who seemed to make no effort to capture his loot. are the AI unable to be programmed to go for them (and to use the resulting prizes effectively?).

I'm just curious =/

Edit: Actually, on the subject, do the AI know how to use magic units and mana? I haven't seen any of them go for those either.

I've often seen the AI camp units around Acheron's city, but his ability to fire meteors may have put a cramp in that. ;)
They will eventually take out the dragon, but much later than a clever player is capable of.
The AI knows how to use (most) magic, but not why or when, so they will pop-up fireballs or scorch plains sometimes, but they won't necessarily (at this point) do so in wise situations.

Edit: Welcome to the FfH boards, btw.

Thanks for the answer (and welcome). It's a shame but I suppose the AI wasn't designed with these intents anyway, but it's nice to know they will try and take things.

It was a major accomplishment for the team just to get the AI to use the meager amount of magic it uses in the first place. I think Kael said that the team would work more on the AI once they were done with shadow, since they don't want to shoot at a moving target.
Due to the clever stuff a human can do and an AI can't, especially majic, you should probably play the game harder than you would normally.

Yeah, I understand the reasoning, I was just curious to find out was all.

I have actually seen the AI try out a new trick in my last two games on taking out the dragon.
For some reason Jonas had units camped out next to the dragon's city. The AI then had Khazad in one game and the Calabim in the other, move units into the same stack as Jonas' and build up and launch from there. With Jonas' protection their units never got meteor'd.

Huh, smart! I have seen them moving mages with troops and giving them enchanted blade, dance of blades, treetop defense etc. Still, AI rather gives mages combat promotions.

However, the AI never seems to know what to do when Orthus comes around, and the AI doesn't even flinch when Acheron starts lobbing fireballs at it.
