I personally call the Celts "Selts". I think this is the wrong way though, and the only reason I say it that way is because of the Boston Celtics. Does anyone know which way is correct?

I have always pronounced it kelt, but I wasn't totally sure. I just looked it up on dictionary.com and it says kelt. So there is your answer.

Unless of course this is one of the times dictionary.com is wrong. Well I guess thats 95% probably correct.

Well I pronounce it the way it's spelled. selts. C before e,i, or y is soft while a,u,o is hard. Don't blame me if others don't know English. Of course in other languages it could be different.

The C in Celts is pronounced as a K

I pronounce it Kelts. Just seems more correct to me than Selts.

I pronounce it Kelts. Celts sounds like something a wuss would be called, and I doubt the Kelts are wussies.

I guess it is Kelts. I'm gonna have trouble calling it that though.

Wow - a 100% hard-and-fast rule to define English pronunciation - it's like the modern-day Rosetta Stone! Not only is the idea of a universal pronunciation rule completely laughable, but your arrogance and lack of respect for foreign-derived words and other exceptions are ridiculous as well. I suppose I pronounce bourgeoise as "bur-jee-ois"?

It's pronounced 'Kelts', and you are an ******, slothman.

Why would it be pronounce Kelts? Does that mean when you get thrown in jail you are in a Jail Kell?

Well someone has their panties in a twist. Ever heard of, who gives a damn?

I've heard, and used, Celt, in both ways. It all depends. You don't say the "Boston Keltics", its 'seltics'. However, I've heard "keltic" and "seltic" when referring to the civilization. In the end, it doesn't matter anyway, we all know what we are referring to when we say one or the other.
