Does BNW include G&K gameplay?

I own Civ 5 vanilla but not Gods & Kings, do I need that to play Brave New World or does it include everything but scenarios like with Beyond the Sword for Civ 4?

You don't need G&K to play BNW. BNW has the game features of G&K except scenarios and civs. Some reports say that BNW includes Ethiopia (from G&K) too. I do not know if this is true or not.

Nobody tried to see if you can select Ethiopia in a normal game without G&K?
It isn't hard, you just need to deselect the expansion from the main menu.

Anyway according to my data mining apart from 8 civs, all the new luxuries introduced my G&K should also be missing.

Crabs, Truffles, Citrus, Salt, and Copper.

Everything is included (religion, espionage, naval combat, units, techs, buildings, resources etc) except for scenarios and civilization with the exception of Ethiopia
