Hi. I've looked at the screen shots of Civ III, and noticed there seem to be fixed borders. If this is so, I would be very interested in buying Civ III. In the past, when i tried to build a fortified border (Building a line of forts, and posting tanks on them), some idiot comes and found a city right next to it, and demands that i move my tanks. I'd like to know the following:

1. Would a rival civilazation still complain about military units close to their cities, even if it is in my own terratory?

2. Does civilizations still all team up against you when you become the most powerful? For instance, if I want to ally with a small civilization which is about to be destroyed by another, would it still reply : "No thank you. we do not want to become part of your evil empire"?

About

1. No. They will notice them but I have never had complaints about units within my own borders.

2. The chance of an alliance depends mostly on your power and your diplomatics. If you're powerfull it's more likely they leave you alone, unless you are a terrible diplomate:D as far as I can tell.
If you have broken treaties in the past they will remember...

Add to that that if you expect your neighbors to stay out of your territory, You will be sadly disappointed. I hate minding my own business then I notice the Aztecs or other country in the middle of my friggin' empire. The always tell you to hit the road if you mistakenly enter their territory, but they seem to run rampant through yours (especially to colonize a forbidden section on the other side of your empire).

I always hate finding some other idiot country in the middle of my empire(I really hate it when my empire is about a whole contient) It gets annoying

Kinda' makes you want a stray Nuke ot two in the Middle Ages, huh?

Exactly.... Makes you wish for just one ICBM!!!:(
