Does RTW need to be modded?

Thanks kibbles, you just saved me hours of downloading :goodjob:

Unfortunately Medieval II doesn't run on my pc too well, so I'll be glad to play a mod.

And I don't know if it helps on your problem, especially if you have it only on RTW campaign map, but check from task manager if there's some heavy programs running without visible window.
No problem! I'm still a little annoyed about this lag though, I'm completely perplexed about why it would be occurring...

Yes, I tried it, but admittedly not for very long. The long load times were boring the hell out of me so I only got about five turns into it before I gave up.

But I'm not judging the gameplay, only the graphics.

I have no problem with the laod times, the only long one is starting the game but eh whatever. The end turn time for the AI to do it's stuff takes less than a minute for me. While I do have a Quad 6600 2.4 ghz CPU, Rome is only using one core. I don't know what your problem is with the graphics though, they look just fine to me. That is, for what the RTW engine can handle.

I know in M2 people had bad lag on the campaign map and turned off campaign map shadows and it worked fine. No idea if this would help with RTW.
