Does Society Need a Lower Class?

Lower class is a relative term. Our poor people live like kings did 500 years ago... probably better, as most of them at least eat sanitary food, have running water and heating.

On the other hand, we find it inhumane the way the lower classes lived back then, not able to properly concieve that a natural lifespan of 26 years wasn't considered unusual.

Society will always have a relative lower class, but where that low end is located will consistantly move upwards.

I disagree. All people are not created equal. Some people are naturly smarter, some better looking, some with a better idea of how to make money. The "all men are created equal" is a line to keep the masses in check.

Maybe adaptation,evolution and survival have something to do here.

Lets say we have a formiz colonies, if all are soldier, the coloni die, if all are worker than they dont survive to next invasion.

Human beeing adaptation is very strong, 1000 year ago we needed only about soldier and farmer to survive, while today there is a multitude of profession which nobody were thinking about 100 year ago.

Absolutely true. There will always be a lower class. No example in history can refute this and if you know our modern world then you'll probably know the trend will continue.

Only when socialism has reached ultimate perfection will there not be a lower class. Nor upper class.

Even if we do achieve perfect socialism, there will still remain the jobs that people would rather not have, and those in other jobs look down upon. Robots can never completely replace humans (hopefully ), so even if robot labor becomes the norm in the future, there will always be a 'class' at the bottom forced into the jobs no one else wants.
