I clicked on the executable for Civilization III but it doesn't open. Only a window of "internet explorer" opens up, and the window is not functional. The same thing is happening for the editor. I was able to run the editor once before this happened. Does anyone know of a fix or patch for this?

It sounds like something is wrong with your installation! Are you double-clicking the .exe for Civ, or a shortcut to it?
Try going to your c:\program files\infogrames interactive\Civilization III\ folder, and doule-clicking the .exe there.
