Yes, Dominion War was actually made on FW.

The upcoming patch is essentiall the same storyline since I don't want to fiddle too much with something that worked well. But its an MGE version with extra event space which contrls the AI much better.

Need two volunteer playtesters. One who has played version 1.0 when it came out and one who has not.
 
I'll take the "haven't played before" slot. To be honest, I haven't played any scenarios yet, period.
 
kobayashi, have you considered creating a multiplayer Dominion Wars game for PBEMing?

It would be rather difficult to keep the essence of the scenario if we do away with the single player concept I'm afraid. As we shift more away from one-player end, it simply becomes more and more like a mid-stage BAQ with the Dominion taking the place of the Borg.

Are you going to try out the patch as well?

Its nice, I like it. But I don't think the menuloop.wav is used at anytime in a scenario. Its only useful for mods. Am I right about this?

You must have played the original right. If you are going to try the patch, can you let me know if it is markedly different from the original.

p.s. I am going to use a few of your units from COANWO3 in my global trade war scenario if I ever get it finished.
 
Downloading it, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be great, as is standard with any kobayashi's work :goodjob:

Then why not keep the Dominion and Cardassians as AI but make the human players be the Federation, Romulans and Klingons?

I suppose there's nothing stopping us from doing that right now. It might be fun as a 'Democracy type' game. Players might not even have to be split among the races but be in charge of task forces or sectors using combined fleets?


but first things first, anyone made it to the end (on Admiral Level)?

You mean like JohnV with a capital V? Where have you been? I'll always remember you said in your Dominion Review (for 1.0) that there wasn't a single mistake.
 
I finally finished the hardest part, getting to Cardassia Prime.

Actually that is only a third of the invasion fleet you see here. There are several heavily damaged starships in Cardassia itself and many others got destroyed either by torpedoes and Galors while getting into position for the grand assault or by the dozen or so Maquis Raiders which appeared after the planet was conquered.

I'm now fighting the Breen so I'll be going through the wormhole anytime now.

Kobi would be most honoured if you tried it. Version 1 can be found in our own downloads section, as well as at the Bestonet section of the Spanish civilization site, civii.de (German) and Geos500 (French) among many others.
