Doomed Galactic Journey (Game Thread)

"might as well trash the labs ourselves... apparently we need no scientists. but hey, airlocks working now so we can just flush people out of it whenever we feel like it and we'll have no mess to clean up afterwards!" Dawn resisted the urge to spit on the floor. apparently it is frowned upon when girls do it. who would want to kill an android? Dawn wondered whether this was a genuine attempt to form a colony or just an incandescantly expensive way to get rid of people... well, and... things. if so, how did she end up here? "anybody know whether we can use the communication devices while in warp?"

Never say a scientist hasn't a use, dear! We cannot use the communication devices while in warp.

The Biologist looks smug, something very difficult to do when one's dressed in nothing but pajamas and a bathrobe. Particularly when the pajamas have little flowers on them and the bathrobe is a rather manly shade of pink.

"try to apply for a grant to study sarcasm" Dawn mutters, as an afterthought she adds a smirk and tries to raise a single eyebrow and succeeds in do so... in a way... the other one just felt left out...

A blunt object? Who would hold a blunt object? Something to consider here, lads.

Oh and for anyone that didn't notice check the last voting chart. Diamondeye got THREE secret votes this time. Do I get to say I told you so yet?

I do not know about Ronins Battery, but I was robbed last night too. Fortunately they didn't go for my battery, but only my belongings.
I am missing a few vials of disease vaccine, which I had found a few days earlier and saved for use in the new colony.

Ah oh... That doesn't sound good...

Good thing everyone threw me in the brig . I can't treat anyone in here can I?

The secret votes seem to favour the Vanguard. Very suspicious.

"If you ask me... "

"then I wish to ask Snerk for an explanation. I can understand voting a battery to a scientist to study instead of the androids who need them, but to an entertainer? Clearly sir, you have taken leave of your senses. "

Marius turns to Charles Li, thinking about breakfast but in the end he decides to leave it be.

I do not owe you any explanation! But due to my exceptional manners i will give you one nontheless. You see, the entertainer with his magical performance is the only one who can subdue the voices in our heads. A ship without an entertainer is like waldorf salad without walnuts. Walnuts.

I'd treat anyone who voted to lock me up as suspicious... Good idea to get the medic out of the way before people start getting sick. You voted for me didn't you Snerk?

Vanguard looks around at them all:
"People, I know these secret votes unnerve you like they unnerve me, but you must surely be able to see how easy it is to incriminate others this way. I can assure you that I do not possess the computing knowledge to minapulate the votes in this way, but I think someone else aboard has, someone who has been far too silent. I am talking of the teacher - Nictel, I can only believe this is a clever frame done by you to undermine the authority of the captain of the ship, and I will vote to have you executed today."

He then turns around to Charles Li. "I need lots of whatever breakfast you can scrape together, cook," before sideglancing to the repairbot, Love: "Do I need to actually tell you to repair the damage to the ship? Get going."

"Me? First of all I have been far from silent, secondly I'm but a teacher. I can tell you how to dig through the stones of the third moon of Ashendour but manipulation I have no knowledge of. I do not know why you suddenly have turned against me. Is it because I refused to change my votes from you to Ronin? I can assure you I am not the one manipulating votes. The main reason? First I make you the new captain of the ship and then I try to undermine you? Yes if I had a say about it Renata would be captain but that is because she can actually think and doesn't start shooting blind accusations at people. I would wish someone with more capable leadership skills would stand up Vanguard."

Kulko, were those vaccines only preventative in nature, or could they be used on one who was already sick?

Vaccines? I need to...

Uh... Hum... Who wants breakfast? (Takes course after course of good food to the Tables, expanded from freeze-dried packages and filling.)

"Now would you stop that! I am doing my best to bring this ship safely to the colony, and you're all busy accusing me for wanting us to survive, what kind of manners are those?!

First of all; Sorry, Ronin, it seems that I was wrong. Both the saboteur and the killer is on the loose still. Second; Nictel, I just shot at whoever sounded like they knew something about computers... It could be Renata as well, but I'd probably be even less popular if I had aired that vote, so for now... Back to theory one: The killer is an android. Steward Unit 99, what purpose do you serve on this ship?

Also, you need to understand my concerns for us all; we are short of oxygene and we have multiple threats to the ship on board - a killer and a saboteur - Voting to kill nobody serves no purpose. Voting for quarantine is sensible, I would say, but we have to face that we need to sacrifice someone for the rest of us to survive. My suggestion would be the civilians as they do not serve any real purpose. Any civilian who thinks he can earn his oxygene should explain why; in public or to me in private.

And obviously I can't do anything if you vote me to die - it'll be a fun scene, me executing myself, since that is also the responsability of the captain, and you all standing without a leader. Even if you do not like my militaristic tone, try to see the logic in my words.

If everything else fails, Captain Splime had a good expression he always told me when handling new recruits: "Obey now, understand later". We need unity to survive."

Vanguard ends his rant and places his plate in front of the cook. "Fill 'er up."

Hmm the secret votes tried to vote the Batteries to Abbadon and then Abbadon was killed.

Two possible explanations:
The secret voters and the killers are the same. They wanted to give abbadon a batterie and then steale them when they killed him.

The secret voters and the kilers are not the same. The secret votes trusted Abbadon and the killers took that as a signal to kill him.

The dark-haired scientist shoots an annoyed glance at the Janitor.

Brilliant deduction! Why, in one fell swoop, you have ruled out exactly 0% of the possibilities!

She then smiles slightly, as if to take the sting out of her words.

You must be right about the possibilities, of course, but that alone doesn't help us. The vaccines you possessed, on the other hand, might. Whoever now holds them, please test them out on one of the affected passengers. Affecting a cure might help your case when you are publically exposed as a thief.

"Your methods require getting used to but for now I believe you. Though I wonder what Vlatixan command would say if we arrive at the colony without any civilians." (Vanguard)

The teacher looks puzzled.
"What are you saying Renata, you know persons that are infected with a disease?! Is it dangerous?! IS IT CONTAGIOUS?!"
