Double Installation?

I recently bought and installed Civ IV: Complete. Before this I just had the vanilla game patched to 1.52 which I uninstalled first. However, I have an old game I would like to revisit, and to revisit it still with the 1.52 rules. The version I have installed now is 1.74. So would it be possible to re-install my own vanilla game, perhaps even to another drive if I have to? I know that the installation folder has a different name, but I can forsee registry problems, and also when I try to run the 1.52 patch exe I imagine it's not going to know which installation is which, etc.

I'd try the following:
install civ4 and patch it to 1.52
then install complete (it uses its own install directory and comes prepatched to 1.74 - so there should be no problems) - if there are there are other ways but they might screw with your uninstall ability later on...
