Downloading Problem

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum or not but I can't find a forum for this particular problem so hopefully this is OK. Whenever I try to download anything from CFC I get the following page:


http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9128&act=down

If the link doesn't work, I get a page with the following message:

vBulletin Message
Slow Down! You are trying to download files too quickly. You must wait 3 seconds before you may download another file.


This happens even though I haven't downloaded anything and even if I wait hours or even days between attempted downloads. The only difference is a change in the number of seconds it says I must wait which ranges anywhere from 1 to 7 seconds. Can anyone tell me what causes this problem and how to fix it. There are some interesting mods I would like to try if I could download them. Thanks in advance for any help.

Many ftp clients open multiple threads to the server in order to download faster. I would bet that this forum server treats that as multiple requests very soon together and rejects them. Try using a simpler ftp client, or find an option in your ftp client which disables downloading on multiple threads.
