Dummie Question: Is it possible to change spyware into a viral megabyte?

Topic ^^. My friend says that she does this all the time so the spyware or viruses or w.e neutralize each other. Is this possible?

Not... quite.

Spyware checkers sometimes have a quarantine option - the spyware is retained in a seperate file for analysis but is neutered so it can't spy or cause damage.

It's probably what is going on, she's just a bit clumsy with the language.
