Hi everybody!

I have read lots of threads about graphic problems in DX9 or DX11 mode but I could not find a solution to my special combination of absurd graphics feaking.

I use Windows 7 64 Bit, so DX11 is installed. My graphics card is a 8800 GT with DX10, so I thought I could use the DX10/DX11-mode. But it runs on about 15 fps.

So I tested the DX9-version and it works much better. Unfortunately, I am in the late game and now I have extreme texture popups. Everytime I scroll, it takes about 2-3 seconds until all textures are loaded.
In this case I can use neither the DX9 nor the DX10/DX11 version.

I already disabled AA and changed to low graphic setting, but it does not make any difference.

My system:

Core 2 Duo 6750 (2x2,66 Ghz)
8800 GT 512MB
4096 MB RAM
Windows 7 64 Bit

DX 10/11 on nVidia DX10 cards IS slow as hell, even on much more powerful cards

For the DX9 texture-pop-in, try this. Helps a bit for DX11, but helps a LOT for DX9 (you have to edit the DX9.ini for this).

I edited the DX9 file but it had just a small effect. It is better but still far away from "good".^^

If you play in the default zoom mode it helps. Thats the money shot..ooh pretty mode, not the one that's gives you an overview of your cities. Being close means it does not have to load as many hexes at once.

I just got used to being zoomed in anyway since, I find the graphics to be meh anyway. Zoomed out it just looks like a mess and literaly makes my eyes bleed, even with a big 26 inch monitor; as an aside those tradings posts have to go.

I have an 8800GTX 756MB, its reasonably smooth in DX11, about 20-30FPS at 1920 by 1200, it crashes more than DX9 though. I stopped playing DX9 due to red artifacts, crappy textures, broken rivers, and lack of proper Anti Aliasing, can't get it to work in Nvidia control panel. DX9 version just screws with my eyes.
