Hey, i've been trying to make my own button for a building a made, and I was wondering about the whole Alpha Channel thing, in the program Dxtbmp.

I relalize that it's the "Border" basicly, but I don't really know much about the use of it and how I can change it etc. (I'm quite new to this stuff)

Anyway, I wanted to change the border to maybe a black, or a gold.. somthing like that. Because in the dxtbmp window it shows the border as grey. My picture is black & white so it looks odd. I've tried changing the alpha channel in Photoshop, but no matter what I do it always shows up as grey.

Does it only show grey in Dxtbmp but ingame it will show up as black or gold? These are some questions I have. If anyone can help or maybe even give some hints about photoshop/dxtbmp or even button making in general i'd greatly appriciate it.

Thanks for the help in advance.

You can't change the alphachannel to anything else than the standardborder if you want your buttons to show properly in the game. The alphachannel is not showing in game btw it's used by the game to sort out what is not to be seen-> what gets transperancy.
Not sure if I manage to explain this reasonable here. Whatever, it doesn't matter what color your picture has the border obviously is just used by the game to merge the buttongfx with the rest of the interface.
So my advice is don't worry about the alphachannel just use the ones provided put them in game and enjoy;)
