Earth Day bug

Had a random event called Earth Day.

Got two options:

1. Just name the day Earth Day and get +1 :) in all cities.

2. Spend :gold: to persuade world leaders to acknowledge Earth Day aka trying to get them to use 'environmentalism' and also get +1 :) in all cities.

Naturally, I wanted to go with the 2 option. But couldn't. I kept pressing on the button and the writing but nothing worked. And I had plenty of money. I mean plenty.

So I think it's a bug.

I believe that to have clicked on the second option, you have to have already researched Mass Media.

I had a random event like this: musician was wonderful in one city and I could (A) (do something just in this city) (B) (do something throughout my lands) or (C) give him a record contract and go world-wide with it [but that option was not available and it said that I required Mass Media to accept option (C)].

If you cannot click on the second option, when you hover over it, a menu should tell you the restriction to not being able to select it.

I definitely had mass media because I had the UN.

Ok I don't think this is a bug because the same thing happened to me again in another game. But a different situation this time I knew I couldn't do the other things because I didn't have the money.

So that means, I was missing something for that other option. But what?

Hmm... it was late in the game, so could be that through the UN environmentalism has already been implemented by all civs. Maybe.

i have also encountered something like this. However it was not earth day, it was some other event. Third option was disabled without any explicit reason.

I think "Earth day" bug is a specific form of a more general bug about events.

Some event options are not displaying their requirements properly.

I've seen several instances where I could not click the last option in the list, despite there being no explicit reason shown in the tool tip. None of them were Earth Day. I'll try to remember to grab a screenshot the next time it happens.

Here is another specific example.

I can not click the Citizens killed option for "Hurricane" event. (No explicit reason on tooltip)

Check the screenshot attached.

That isn't giving you an option, it is just telling you what happened as a result of the hurricane...

The other scenario does not seem like a bug, only that the player lacks a requisite tech. I think a patch should address that.

Thanks for explaining that this isn't a bug. I had the same experience and would better lose 1 population than an early library while building the Great Library.
But it makes sense, when an hurricane hits, you can't choose what it hits. It would be more clear if only "what happened" (the building lost in this case) was showed, instead of a box with the two options of what could happen which ask for a confirmation of the "right" option. But at least now I understand that's not a bug.

could be, however the population loss option never happened. I encountered this 4 times, and it was all the buiilding destroyed option. So i insist that this is a bug until someone posts a screensshot with the other option selected by default.

Yeah, I've had quite a few of these and not once has the population loss ever happened.
