What civ do you think is the easiest one to win on in the WWII campaign, I've been playing as the USA and am having a hard time even with the British helping, would Japan be easier?

I've never played it, but from reading everyone else's opinion here, the Japs are by far the easiest to play as :)

Thanks for the tip.

Played as Japan, China and USA and Japan is easier, IMHO, because USA has very few cities on the map and the cities are in not-so-important places most of the time. I like Japan, great military at the start and lots of cities in good places. China is good but Japan is right nextdoor and destroys you very quickly.

Yeah, Japan is tremendous fun right off the bat, the US requires more patience, but i've also enjoyed being China (believe it or not.) It's a totally different experience (which gives WW2 Pacific more replay value, imo.) As I recall, you need to maintain roads to a couple essential resources, build artillery, MGs and later tanks, and you get respites when the Japs' attention goes elsewhere. Oh, and trade with your allies can help a lot (one thing the Japs don't have!)

Nah Japan is not easier than the rest. Yes they have a strong units at the beginning, but it is very difficult to replace them once it's killed. China is fun.

No, it doesn't, I played on Sid and actually won as China. :smug:

The beginning is bad, but after the first bang it cools down a little. They usually only get that one small town in the South...

I played as both China and the Commonwealth, and they were pretty fun to play as. I won as both, and actually ended up conquering Japan both times. I guess this time I should try Japan or the USA.

I think being Japan is the easiest. I have won as the Chinese on emperor. I found that the secret was building loads of artillery, and loads of workers to increase production. I conscripted units to defeat their heavily weakened, usually one hit point, units. I have also won as the US, though i could've won a lot sooner had i known that the Japanese mainland was so poorly defended!!

Japan is the easiest to play I feel, though not to the degree where the scenario is totally biased in their favour. I have also played and won with China on Emperor, it is a very fun slant on the game.

You can win as the Japanese on Sid in less than 12 turns. They simply overrun everyone else before production bonuses can kick in.

1 thong to note about difficulty levels on scenarios: one of the bonuses the AI gets on the higher levels is free units, but since the map/units have been predetermined, playing on the incremenal playing on sid doesn't mean quite as much (but it still means a lot)

I think that the easiest civ in thsi conquest is Japan because if you can get a good start then you are really hard to beat, a really good idea is also to mass produce marines and transports and go and invade the islands north of australia.

Has anyone noticed that some towns on the islands north of Australia are not actually occupied by enemy troops, such as the dutch town southwest of Singapore.

If you are Japan and any other civ gets :nuke: and have the ability to use them then you had better watch out.
