Well I could use an easy level diversion :crazyeyes

Of course, with Persia, gee a conquest / domination victory?:D

i'd like to join to. i'm not yet past warlord but i haven't had the game very long. on civ 2 i was a emperor level so. . . i should get up a little higher soon

You do kinda get that feeling with Persia, especially when you see the 2nd tech I reserached. ;)
Anyway I ddin't expect soemone liek Lee to join... guess this one won't take long :D
Your both in. I'll just post my turn and the file and then put up a order.

Heres our starting position anyway:

Heres our starting position anyway:

[party] double cows [party]
Our starting square probably is NOT a river. Move one to get the river. How to check. Right click, terrain info. If it says zero shields - MOVE! Our capital will be a killer production city, can you say wonders galore?

I am getting rep as a good player, or simply a volume player?
;)

LK15 is in the planning stages - I have a couple of different ideas. Plus I will start a mix of regent and monarch games soon.
Oh, I plan to make my first map variant game soon :satan:

i forgot to mention 20 turns max, no min.... may make it less in later game

The beginngings of the Persain Empire are sorround by mythology and plain stupidity. A common labourig boy and a dim witted man named Earl settled in a area by a river as they were frightened by two huge black and white animals which appeared either site of them. A nearby nomad tribe took pitty on these fools giving the secrets of a Warrior Code so they could pass these beasts which they called "Kaow" or something like that.

Several years later a brave (or equally foolish) man witha taste for bear skins set out to explore the lands south. A few decades after one of his any sons set out too the north.

The son discovered the Hitte tribe who he played a game they called "Poke-her" which involved poking the local women with sticks. The women gave him 25 gold for his efforts. Nearby they found a sea and something which appeared to be a hat.

Earl was so excited about this that he immediatly sent forth a band of settlers to get this headwear. They foudn however, that it actually was wheat. These myths gave rise to teh common name of Earl of the Kaow Hat (its my first story summery! Give me some leeway here!)

During these times the Persain Scientist had been working on Burial technics as Earl smelt bad enough when he was alive, they didn't even want to imagine what he would be like when he was dead.

Once they found that they could dig a hole in teh groound, a massive advancement indeed.

The Son Warrior returned from his jaunts bringing news of strange shiny objects called Gems in the snowy moutains and demanded he could have a home for him and his feellow warrior and a rplacment for his flint axxe. So the Capital started working on a "Barracks" and the scientists Iron Working.

In 2950 BC when earl was still try to put a wheat bail on his head he threw it up in annoyance and hit a bird. This brid happened to ahve paper tied to its foot and once the scientist managed to get it away from Earl who was trying to put the peigion on his head they found it showed "The most powerful nations in teh world"

1)Persains
2)Russians
3)Babylonians
4)English
5)Eygptians
6)Germans
7)aztecs (Last...... theres a turn up for the books!)

The Scientist shook their head as Earl asked them who these Persains were and if they had nice hats.

I'll think u've suffered enough with story telling so we disturbed a barbarian village = elite wrrior
Built another worker
Cumans Teach us POTTERY (not poverty :o  )

We've met no other Civs. Theres a settler (unprotected. Spearmen being built in capital) going for the plains infront of moutain/ near river by teh ivory.

I would also suggest the grassland w/o shield next to all that tundra forest near our capital. our capital and 2nd city (You notice not even trying to remember these Persain names) have 2 over lap but the 2nd city is in SUCh a good position there. I can't remember seeing so many gras land with sheilds before.....

Anyway heres the empire so far (There is another dye in the forest just off the right hand side of the screen... think you can see the other one.

Heres the Empire so far:

OK, how about a player order.

If I am #2, real quick turn around.

I never expected this much of a response so quickly.... 2 ppl at most :D

Anyway could you guys possibly put yourselves in order as my US State abreviations ain't that great as is my US geo.
I played about 35 turns by the way...... lost count a bit :o

Anyway heres the save file:

The play order so far -

Earl Of Chester
LKendter (playing)

Order by states won't help much. I know so USA players to work 2nd shift. I play after 5:30 est Mon - Thur, Fri - Who knows, Sat / Sun - Depends if I am travelling.

Results shortly.

Good.

I think we are on the river, should be on the corner of it. i had already played the game when I had posted that pic.
And volume or quality? both :) I do tend to read Joe Spaniel and Donsigs games more though as I prefer the traditional game rather than variants like the five and one city challenges.

I haven't actually won a game via conquest or domination yet. Until recntly played Eygpt and France so usually won by Space Race

looks a preety good starting postions though. Hopefully get your precious Pyrimids ;)

Anyway we are full now so whoever wants to go after Lee plz post

I was a bit hasty and stupid and played 20 turns after I downloaded Earl of Chester's game. Here's the game if you want it, e-mail me if you want the details.

MUMMYMAN IS PLAYING AFTER LKENDTER

aaahhhhh should have said if you were playing...... I don't think its fair on LKeenter if we use that file.... he did say he was playing....

I'll put you up next?

Preturn - Nothing to change!
This looks like an autosave?

2350 BC - I finish the incomplete turn.
Pasargadae switch to Pyramids, 91 turn eta.
2270 BC - Mining project reduces eta to 71 turns.
Slight, temporary science reduction to give us some money.
Hmmm.. Wheel, Alphabet, or Mysticism.
Well at Warlord we should hold a tech lead, the great library has little value.
So, Mysticism is ordered up. We can always use temples.
2230 BC - Well I see the target for settler #4 - Iron.
2190 BC - Susa is formed, dyes within our borders. We know need to connect them.
2070 BC - I meet Babylon. They are 3 techs behind, and can offer us nothing :(
1870 BC - Persepolis is clearly a settler factory - Irragating the cow for faster growth.
1830 BC - Wheel research begins.
[dance] We get a free settler from a village [dance]
1626 BC - Arbela is formed. A source of Iron is secured. To close to Babylon, a temple is ordered.
1600 BC - Horseback riding ordered to be researched.
The settler finally is to a good spot, Antioch is formed. A temple is ordered, so that the northern spice will get inside our borders.

Summary -
Our starting area is good.
Iron, horses, ivory, dyes, and spices to be connected.

Sorry, but Persepolis is NOT on a river.

I suggest no more players - to many players, and to long between turns

Earl - Please set the turn order, before any more confusion.

These type of problems, will annoy succession players, and could cause drop outs.
I painfully learned this in my early games. :(
