Editting widgets

I've been trying to change the information shown on widgets. Specifcally, I want the upgrade unit widget to, instead of showing the real name of the unit being upgraded to, shows an alternative name.

Does anybody happen to know how to change the information shown on widgets? Or, even better, create a new widget?

(For those of you who don't know, widgets are the info boxes that open when you mouse-over something.... at least... I think they are).

It seems to me I remember reading in a thread on this site that Firaxis hid the mouse-over text from us and won't be available until the SDK comes out.
