I've been playing the Elves the past few evenings, and I've gotten to the point where I have most of the techs researched.

For some reason though I just cannot build Druids.

What are the exact requirements to build them? I tried getting some Priests of Leaves up to lvl 6 thinking maybe I had to upgrade them, but that doesn't appear to have worked.

Feel like I'm missing something, but for the life of me can't figure out what it is.

Only neutral civs can build Druids. Good elven civs (like Arendel) can build paladins.

Need to have a neutral alignment.

FoL never changes your alignment so if you're Arendel or Faeryl, getting FoL first and sticking with it for the whole game will mean no druids.

Arendel's spiritual so she can adopt council of esus or octopus overlords for 10 turns, turning neutral, then change back to FoL, staying neutral. Bit harder for Faeryl, she'll have to eat the anarchy.

You need to be Neutral alignment, and have a grove in the city you want to build them in.

Its just 4 or 5 Turns of wait between switches for switching religions + it doesn't interfere with civic-switching. So its really a non-problem for Arendel. :)

Also anyone can switch free of anarchy during golden ages, including Faeryl (+and the elves usually get really get millage out of golden Ages.). So go Bone-Palace or sac a GP and you are set for Druids + don't need to eat the anarchy. :)

Just make sure you haven't built any of the FoL heroes before you switch. Unless that was changed a while back and I missed it, they will abandon you when you switch.

That's such a simple, smart tip, thanks!

Change to something which WILL hit alignment, then change to the thing which doesn't hit alignment at all, not even to reverse the recent switch. Very smart. I guess you could go further into Ashen Veil even briefly (fully evil) and then go back to FoL, remaining evil... not that having your woods full of Eidolons would help that much, but hey.
