Greetings,

Regarding the possible tech deal between CDZ and CFC, we like to bring the following proposal to cfc's attention.
While CDZ's main preference, as indicated during the chat, is obtaining gold (per turn), we understand that the situation that CFC is in atm, as explained to us during the chat, limits the possibility of delivering large gold per turn payments. Considering this situation, we have decided for this occasion to enhance our offer of selling construction to cfc from our original 25 gpt offer to 18 gpt and one size 1 city, (which we'd prefer to, atm of delivery, not be in danger of being ransacked by barbarians).

Looking forward to your reply,

with kind regards,

The CDZ-Team.
So; 18 gpt + 1 city (Tulum) for Const. They do not say anything about Const + HBR.

The city ought to be slightly more expensive than 7gpt IMO for 20 turns. With a city we can make about 7gpt for the rest of the game. Also, looks like Kemal stood his grounds. But if they throw in HBR, it can be probably acceptable though steep it is. The city we can build any place they will tell us. Do they want on the coast? May be we can build one north of Khazad-Dum and gift it to them? Just to slow the Immortals down?

Edited: however, if the deal includes no trading with C3B, that might be OK in terms of price. Well, at least fair. And we can always research HBR on our own.

Edited again: They probably intend on holding off HBR, so we should research it ourselves which is no big deal but minus extra 120 gold or so from the cash income. This also might take off the urgency flag from the deal but not sure here.

Listen to this, we give them Magnusmarcus diversion city, and that is perfect.
we also make them part of the war to get the next city. Once addicted to new cities, they are our *****.

Give for a specified amount of turns, or for good?

I just want this clarified.

Goonie: I think for good.

Provo: where is Magnus' city ?

Another option: City 2 tiles SE of Ryttyla. If we rush some culture in Ryttyla they can only have sea tiles.

I don't think north of Khazad dum qualifies as a " not be in danger of being ransacked by barbarians".

Edit: Seeing that Khazad will finish a settler in 1 and that we can clear the area from barbs by our JT's I think it does qualify, as they call it, atm of delivery, not be in danger. At the moment of delivery it will not be in danger.

Editted again (akots-style) building a city in the desert of NE of Khazad Dum doesn't cost us a lot of production or good tiles.

Since we only have to have Const after HBR (4 turns) we can move the settler and build a city and gift it in 4 turns (middle desert square)

Alas our plan for a city near the game tile near c3b border has been nullified.

1. The Barbarians are moving only NW/SE, so anything on the west coast would pretty much count as not in danger of immediate danger of barbarian ransacking.

2. I do not think that Khazad Dum is building a settler any longer...

3. I like the idea of gifting a city in the path of the Immortal warpath...

4. Do we want to push for the extra tech, Horseback Riding, since it is actually really cheap anyways? We could offer some quick cash...this would permit us to leap into the next age and head toward our goal of Knights.

FYI:
Horseback Riding costs at present approx.: 114 beakers
Construction costs at present approx.: 550 beakers

We can do Horseback Riding easily in 4 turns: with 29 beakers/turn having +63 gpt left (to trade and save money).

Thinking further: buying both techs - buying any tech - should (normally) cost half of what it costs us to do it ourselves. In this case: (114+550)/2 = 332 gold = 17 gpt.
If they want a city, they should need to pay a lot more than 1 gpt for it!

Who cares about what is worth what? We need to get a complete tech deal with CDZ and CGN! THis way we can fully unite against the Brasilian menace.

@Matrix: Why half? With libraries and universities (both of which we don't have) it will be about 60% of actual cost since our beakers will be multiplied. Alas, not now and here.

And for us is cheaper to buy for gold than research because we have markets but don't have libraries.

Also, if CDZ takes a city from us this would not come unnoticed for C3B. Coupled with anticipated reluctance of CDZ to trade with C3B, this will probably mean at least tense relationship. Unless CDZ and C3B already conspired to get rid of us. :)

Do we poll this deal or just accept the offer?

Magnusmarcus City was the diversion city we planned on that hill SE of Porto

Because in principle whether we do it ourselves or buy it from someone else for the same price - the only difference is whether they get richer or not. Ah and of course that we'll get if earlier. ;)

But I do think we shouldn't pay them more than those techs cost us, i.e. 17 gpt.

Also, I should've brought this up at the chat we had with CDZ. Sorry. But I'm sure they'll understand what I'm saying. I think I'll have a unofficial chat about it with someone at CDZ when I have the chance.

I am against giving CDZ a city on the continent because it will give them an immediate opportunity for contact with C3B. This will allow them to play both sides of the fence to enrich themselves, while possibly staying neutral while the situation on this side escalates. Then, they (along with CGN) will close in on the weakest nation.

We cannot be that nation.

They may have already contact, cat hinted at it. But that does raise a good point. Now I am thinking of staying with C3B...

I'm sure they have contact with C3b, if not now certainly in 2 turns.
