Embarked Unit Speed Increase - change or bug?

I am playing as Inca who doesn't get any special bonuses. I just researched ship building and ALL my units have embarked speed of 4, instead of 2. Settlers, builder, archers, you name it. I am in a dark age so no golden age bonus or anything like that. No mods.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is this an intentional change or a bug?

I was wondering about that. Yes, I noticed it too (playing as French Eleanor). It's very convenient.

Didn’t find anything in patch notes to indicate that though so wondering if it’s intentional or not . It would be hard to believe the devs missed something that huge after testing so many games.. wonder if anyone noticed this in the hundreds of live-streams
