Hi everyone,

I hope that you can be of assistance to me. My game was working fine until I installed patch 1.61 few days ago and then my problem started. I tried to start a new game and also to open my previous saved games from the previous patch. What happens is that it just quits just as it finishes loading the game(before starting). It then gives me some weird error which goes like this:

Error

Failed to allocate video memory. Please try reducing your graphics settings.
File:\Source\main\Civilization4\SDKs\Gamebryo2_0\CoreLibs\NiDX9Renderer\NiDXRenderedTextureData.cpp, Line:170

When I click OK, it then says:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: ...ram Files\Firaxis Games\Civilization 4\Civilization4.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I uninstalled the game, tried without the patch and it works fine! So i tried reinstalling the patch, but still have the same problem/errors.

Please help as I can't imagine life without Civilization.

btw... i get all the menus and everything, its only when i try to start a game/scenario up that i get the error. in other words i can't play!
